Rillan is located just ½ mile from the picturesque village of Drumnadrochit 15 miles from Inverness on the banks of Loch Ness.

You will have access to the cottage anytime after 3pm. However, if you would like to access the property earlier than this, please contact us and we will, where possible, make special arrangements.

We understand that depending on where you are travelling from you may not arrive until the evening. This is not a problem as we will tell you how to obtain the keys so you can let yourself in.

We request that guests leave the cottage clean and tidy by 10am.

The nearest supermarket is only approximately ½ mile away. There are also takeaways next door to the supermarket plus a range of other restaurants and hotels in the village.

There is a cash machine outside the supermarket.

The mysterious Loch Ness can be seen from the cottage and is only about a mile away. You can walk down to the shore line via Urquhart Bay Woods.

The bathroom has a bath with an electric shower that is situated over the bath. It is not a ‘walk-in’ shower.

Towels and bed linen are provided at no extra cost.

We have two bedrooms. One has a kingsize double bed and the other has two single beds. The property can accommodate up to four people.

There is space for at least three cars at the side of the property off the road.

Unfortunately we do not allow dogs or other pets.

If you want to be really cosy on a chilly evening, Rillan has a log fire for your use. Logs and kindling are provided free of charge subject to availability. But you will need matches/lighter.

Rillan is all on one level so no need to worry about stairs or steps once inside. However there are a couple of stairs into the property via the front door with a handrail. For visitors who are confined to a wheelchair, unfortunately Rillan would not be suitable.

Inverness is the nearest airport about a 40 minute drive from Rillan. There are flights from across the UK and so flying is an easy option. There are car hire facilities at the airport. The nearest main line train station is Inverness. There are many car hire companies in Inverness, some will meet you at the station or airport.

Unfortunately, the village of Drumnadrochit does not have a bank but it does have a Post Office.

There is a petrol station in the village and is generally open during normal trading hours. For cheaper petrol it is probably better to get this at one of the supermarkets in Inverness which is 15 miles away.

We do accommodate short breaks these are mostly during off-peak times (November to April - excluding Christmas and New Year period) and for a minimum stay of three nights (minimum charge £360). Please contact us with your preferred dates and we will be pleased to advise you of cost and availability. From May – October the cottage is let on a weekly basis (7 days) Saturday to Saturday.
